About the event
Harvardwood is delighted to share that BEARCAVE, co-written and co-directed by Krysianna Papadakis (Social Studies ’17) and Stergios Dinopoulos (VES ’17), will screen at NewFest on October 18 at 9:30 PM at SVA Theatre, New York City.
The film had its world premiere this August at the Venice Biennale, where it was honored with the Europa Cinemas Label at Giornate degli Autori. Shot in the mountain villages of Greece, BEARCAVE is a genre-blending queer odyssey rooted in Balkan folklore. With raw visual intensity, it follows two young women whose friendship deepens into love against the backdrop of myth, rural life, and generational change.
Led by a women-driven, grassroots production team, BEARCAVE has already begun making its mark on the international festival circuit. A Q&A with the filmmakers will follow the NewFest screening.
