The Harvardwood Actors Collective (or HAC) is a gathering of supportive actors
looking to exercise their craft and keep their instruments limber.
We hold monthly play reading events,
celebrating works both old and new!

Eligibility
​The collective is open to professional working actors and MFA actors.
Only Full Harvardwood Members are eligible (Friends of Harvardwood are ineligible).

Submissions are accepted on a quartly basis.

Laura Yumi Snell
Laura Yumi is an LA-based classical pianist-turned-actor/producer/Zoom master. She was a singer-puppeteer in the Broadway tour of AVENUE Q, and she’s worked on stages and screens from Manhattan to Moscow and everywhere in between. After receiving her Masters in Acting from Harvard/A.R.T. in 2018, she co-founded SoHo Shakespeare Company in NYC. She stars in the indie feature CARSICK (Amazon Prime) and can be seen in RED, QUARANTINE HORROR STORY, and EAT, SURF, LOVE. Gwen Thomas is a comedian, writer and actor in Los
Angeles. She’s a features writer for The Onion, performs stand-up and improv, and most recently can be seen in Hot Seat, an award-winning comedy short. Gwen is a graduate of Harvard University where she earned a degree in English and toured internationally with the improv team IGP.

​Madison Trice
Madison Trice is an actress and screenwriter who graduated from Harvard with a Theatre Dance and Media secondary. She played a lead in a number of Harvard BlackCAST shows. Madison has since acted in a number of short films, including Traveling Mercies, a film she wrote which was featured at the Beverly Hills and Pan African Film Festivals. She is represented by Tory Christopher agency.

Sophia Khan
A passionate storyteller with a penchant for Shakespeare and Sci-Fi, Sophia has lived in Pakistan, China, England, Italy, and the US. She earned a BA from Dartmouth, master’s degrees from Harvard and Yale, and a certificate in Shakespearean Performance from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Sophia stars in the upcoming video game PROJECT VESPERI and recently garnered a ‘Best Acting Duo’ award at the Dark Comedy Film Festival for DOLLYVILLE. Her scripts have ranked in the top 10% of the Academy Nicholl Fellowship and Slamdance and reached the Final Round at the Sundance Feature Film Lab. ​​​​

Meisha Brooks
Meisha (@meishabrooks) is an American-Canadian citizen, fluent in Japanese, and holds a mechanical engineering degree from Harvard, informing her love for bringing characters to life, especially in the sci-fi, fantasy world.
Having studied with renowned coaches Anthony Abeson, Lesly Kahn, Bob Krakower, and Sharon Chatten, she has trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Upright Citizens Brigade, and practices action combat, Tate, and JKD. Recent credits: Veronica in award-winning audio drama The Crime at Camp Ashwood (Spotify) and Hanna in the upcoming film Out of Order!, alongside Brooke Shields, Luis Guzman, Tao Okamoto, Sandra Bernhard, Brandon Routh.

Rocket Claman
Rocket Claman (she/her) is an actor and writer working to advance sociocultural change through the arts. She considers it a privilege and a joy that she is consistently trusted to help develop new work. Favorite theatre credits include: one drop cool (Women’s Project Theatre), T: An MBTA Musical (Rockwell Theatre), And Your Little Dog Too!/Y tu perrito tambien! (Apollinaire Theatre); Harvard: “Marriage or MADE” (dir. Stevie Walker Webb), “Footloose!” (Rusty), and “H.M.S. Pinafore…” (Cousin Hebe). Film: “About You” (Lead). Laura Frustaci
Laura Frustaci is an NYC-based writer and actor. Before moving to New York, she was based in Edinburgh on a yearlong writing fellowship from Harvard University. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Harvardwood, an arts and entertainment nonprofit, while simultaneously completing her first novel. In her free time, Laura is a voracious reader and an increasingly formidable bridge player.

Jesse Charles Friedman
Jesse is an actor, a teaching artist, and the Director of Education at SoHo Shakespeare Company. He has performed under the direction of Tony-winner Diane Paulus, Obie-winner Melia Bensussen, and Emmy-winner/Oscar-nominated Marc Smerling. TV credits include FBI: Most Wanted, A Wilderness of Error, and The Food that Built America. After completing a Fulbright scholarship in Uruguay, he earned his MFA at
Harvard’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training, before spending two years as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard. Jesse is especially proud of his work with the nonprofit Victory Afghanistan, where he helps teach storytelling and Shakespeare to Afghan
women in efforts to increase educational opportunity.

Katherine Wright
Katherine Wright is an actress, singer, and comedian in New York City. Katherine co-devised On Hold at University Settlement, New Creation at Dixon Place, Elena Molokovets in the staged reading of Marrow in the Bone at BAM, and Olga in a devised adaptation of Three Sisters called The Hummm (Dixon Place, Barn Arts Festival, selections at BAX, and OBERON at the A.R.T.). She is a resident dramaturg for SoHo Shakespeare Company. Katherine has a BA in acting and dramaturgy from Emerson College and an MFA in acting from the A.R.T. Doctor Mikael Powell
Doctor Mikael Powell is a NYC & New England actor, commercial print model, VO artist, and long-time member of SAG/AFTRA. Doc is represented by Maggie Inc., in Boston, MA. Principal leads in film & TV include, The Handyman in the mini-series “The Artist” (2025), Mr. Kimani in the indie short “His Name is Eku (2025), Dr. Smith in “The Duet of Florence Price & Amy Beach” (2023), and Mr. Balman in the children’s TV show “Gerbert”(1989). He has significant acting training in person and online through Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute, Los Angeles. Currently Doc is in on-going training with Eric Lutes (Caroline in the City, Et al.), and he attends various local acting workshops.
