Gary Shapiro (College) is a writer who lives in Massachusetts.  He has written for The Wall Street Journal, the Forward newspaper, and the Office of Communications at Columbia University. He was a contributing editor at The American Scholar, the quarterly published by Phi Beta Kappa.  He attended Phillips Exeter Academy and majored in Classics (A.B.'86) at Harvard, where he lived in Eliot House. He was a member of the board of The Harvard Advocate, which is a literary publication at Harvard.
