Navigating the Current TV/Film Industry with Joel Church-Cooper

TV and film are changing fast, and breaking in or staying in can feel more confusing than ever. Joel Church-Cooper will talk candidly about the current landscape, from pitching and developing projects to staffing, running rooms, working with studios and streamers, and how writers can navigate an industry that looks very different than it did even a few years ago.

Joel Church-Cooper is a television writer and showrunner. He co-created and showran Brockmire for IFC and created and showran Going Dutch for FOX. He was also a co-executive producer on Future Man and Minx, and has sold pilots to Apple, Amazon, HBO, and NBC. He is currently developing projects in television and film and teaches The Showrunner Class, an eight-week workshop designed to give emerging writers practical experience working in a writers’ room.
