The Los Angeles Chinese Film Festival (LACFF) is proud to host its second annual festival, screening 21 nominated films from Chinese independent filmmakers and artists, at the Downtown Independent Theater, from November 1st to 4th, 2018. LACFF is the only film festival in Los Angeles to focus on independent Chinese culture and heritage films and aims to foster cultural exchange between the Hollywood and Chinese film industries.
This year’s LACFF will feature a strong line-up of thoughtfully curated films, including opening night feature by Ruijin Li, Walking Past the Future, as well as closing night documentary, Linsanity, by Evan Leong. Many of the filmmakers, including director Ruijin Li, will be present for Q&A sessions after their respective screenings.
The festival will also host two industry panels, where attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry heavyweights, including Jimmy O. Yang, comedian and actor in Crazy Rich Asians and Silicon Valley; President of Perfect World Pictures, Rong Chen; and Emmy Award-winning writer, Jessica Gao; amongst other highly accomplished industry professionals on topics ranging from content creation to the future of international co-productions, distribution and film financing.
