Profile:
GRAINNE GODFREE (pronounced Gran-ya) fell in love with movies at the age of 11 when the only way to stay up late was to watch John Wayne with her father. A native of Los Angeles, Grainne graduated with a History degree from Harvard in 2003. As a participant in the inaugural Harvardwood 101 intercession trip, Grainne knew that she wanted to write. After working in production for two years, Grainne entered the Columbia University Film Program to concentrate full time on the craft of screenwriting. At Columbia, Grainne found her voice as a writer of powerful, flawed female characters and her script BLOOD AND IVORY won Faculty Selects in 2010. Grainne spent three years at Columbia as the Assistant Director of the Columbia University Film Festival, planning screenings and events in New York and Los Angeles to showcase graduate thesis films. Grainne is excited to use this experience to work on the Harvardwood Film Festival. She still stays up late to watch John Wayne.
