Harvardwood Writers Competition

The Harvardwood Writers Competition (HWC) was founded in 2006 with the aim of recognizing superior work by Harvard writers and giving these talented individuals the opportunity to gain industry exposure.

An undergraduate program taking place in-person in LA in January consisting of Bootcamp (an intensive, informational few days in Los Angeles, featuring industry speakers, panels with interactive sessions, student Q&As, social events, and more) and Wintership options.

Harvardwood Summer Internship Program

Harvardwood publishes internship opportunities, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis each year. The internship list is updated several times throughout the year, so students should check the list periodically for additional opportunities. Positions may be filled on a first come first serve basis, so we encourage students and companies to submit their materials as early as possible.

Harvardwood Writers Program - Jeff Sagansky LA TV Intensive

The Jeff Sagansky Harvardwood TV Writers Intensive is an 8-12 week long modules-based peer writing program. Modules meet weekly for 3 hours per week for the duration of the program. This program uses peer review, guest speakers and workshops to foster a motivating and supportive environment for each participant’s writing.

Have you been working on a feature film idea and just can’t seem to get the project off the ground?  Perhaps you even have a draft but feel you need to revisit the project. Introducing the Harvardwood Feature Writing Intensive, where you can work with other Harvardwood members over 10 weeks to get to a strong and completed 1st draft of your script (or a similar milestone of your choosing).

The group will meet via Zoom 1-2 times a month with the goal of advancing participants' projects from idea, to outline, to finished, feature-length screenplay. 

Harvardwood Writers Program - Boston TV & Features Group

Strengthen your TV pilot and feature film writing skills in the Boston Harvardwood Writers Program! This group meets Tuesdays at 7:30 pm, twice per month (October to May) on Zoom to workshop scripts by participants. Priority will be given to Boston-area writers; there may be opportunities for in-person gatherings as the program progresses. We welcome Harvard College undergraduates!
