Creative arts are protected by US law and successful artists identify and protect their creative works to avoid getting cheated out of their rights.  This workshop covers identifying protectable intellectual property and taking affordable steps to protect that property. 

All forms of intellectual property will be discussed: (1) copyright; (2) trade secrets; (3) trademarks and brands; as well as (4) patents.

Mr. Tormey is the author of the Startup Guide to Intellectual Property. A clear, easy to read, introduction to intellectual property and how startups can take advantage of IP to create a sustainable competitive advantage. Every attendee will receive a copy of the book with paid admission. The author will also sign books after the presentation.

Presenter: Pete Tormey, Esq. has over 25 years of experience in product development, marketing and intellectual property protection.  As a company startup veteran, Mr. Tormey brings a unique perspective on the value of intellectual property to a small and growing business. As such, he has delivered lectures to entrepreneurs and business executives all around the world on how to protect and leverage IP assets. He is the managing partner at Antero Tormey & Petrin, a San Francisco based intellectual property firm.
