Allison heads up the Harvardwood Writers Program with a focus on television, and she produce the Harvardwood Showcase of original TV pilots.
Allison has a BA in Economics and Visual Arts from Boston University and spent two years as an Americorps VISTA before studying film at Emerson College and going on to earn her Master's at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. At Harvard she studied how adults perceive and become interested in stories. She is particularly interested in the impact of narratives on the development of young adults and society. Allison has taught Video Production and Web Design at both Emerson College and SOCAPA. She worked as an assistant in TV Lit at Paradigm Agency before deciding to pursue writing full time, and has produced one short documentary, two short films and three commercials for ProbablyNotDead.com
Waking Media, Allison's web design business, specializes in creating sites for small businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly in the areas of non-profit and green business. Her clients benefit from her more than 10 years of web design and small business marketing experience. She has assisted in the start-up and operation of four successful businesses and one non-profit.
