After working through 140 scripts and 3 rounds of judging, the RESULTS of the Harvardwood Writers' Competition are finally in!
 
First, a big congratulations to all FINALISTS – choosing between the best scripts was difficult in every category. Once again, the quality of your writing speaks for itself.
 
Also, a huge thank-you to everybody who helped out as JUDGES in this competition. You’ll remain anonymous as promised, but we’re grateful that you leant us your time and expertise.

FEATURE SCREENPLAY CATEGORY
 
Winner ($350) 
 
Camera Phone (Horror) - Yalun Tu & Zach Hines
An abandoned cameraphone is found in Hong Kong. The videos on it reveal the terrifying story of a woman tormented by the spirit of her dead high school lover.
 
Runner-up ($100)
 
Dark Ops (Action Thriller) - Andrew Sodroski & Raven Burnett
When a team of American soldiers occupies a mysterious Afghani monastery, they suddenly find themselves battling enemies beyond their comprehension.
 
Second runner-up ($50)
 
Contractor 386 (Sci-Fi Western) - Grainne Godfree
A young female samurai and a seasoned criminal search for a boy taken by military contractor-bots. On a hellish road through nuclear clouds and unscrupulous raiders, they find love and redemption.

Tomorrowland (Drama) - Jamie Mayer
The staff of a high-end Malibu rehab center try to keep their own lives together while dealing with the needs of their wealthy, often celebrity clients.

Apocalypse Now-ish (Animated Comedy) - Caitlin Meares & Kyle Mack
An average teenager deals with the trials and tribulations of high school: hot girls, dumb jocks, nuclear bombs, and a best friend who is accidentally fused with a sex robot

The Tunnel (Drama) - Keren Toledano
Two men dig towards freedom in a subterranean tunnel, but the demons between are as dark as those they flee

In addition to the cash prize, Harvardwood will help set up meetings for our winners with managers, agents, other screenwriters and/or development execs around Hollywood (tailored to their individual career needs). Our goal is to help our winning writers achieve concrete progress in their careers as a result of their work.
