Harvardwood is pleased to announce the A.R.T. Alumni Lab Artist Grants, a new collaboration with the A.R.T. Alumni Association, a volunteer-run, independent nonprofit organization for graduates of the Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University/Moscow Art Theater School.
Lab Grants aim to support the development of new theatrical work, including full-length original plays, adaptations, translations, musicals, solo plays, and interdisciplinary theater projects.
In 2009, the A.R.T. Alumni Lab issued six grants of $1,000-$2,000 to A.R.T. Institute alums, helping produce two theater workshops, two fully staged productions, one reading, and one film project. This year, we are pleased to make one Lab Grant of up to $2,000 available to members of the extended Harvardwood community. As this partnership develops, more grants will become available to Full Members of Harvardwood in 2011 and beyond.
The Project Initiator must be a graduate of Harvard University and a member of the A.R.T. Alumni Association OR a Full Member of Harvardwood. The creative team, however, may include artists from any background
Deadline for applications is April 15, 2010. For more information on how to apply, click here. Recipients of Alumni Artist Grants must commit to a public reading or presentation of the work (or work-in-progress) between May 2010 and April of 2011.
The Lab’s Artists Grants initiative is a unique opportunity—to our knowledge, no other Alumni Association or alumni organization offers a similar program. So get your applications together for this exciting new initiative.
We look forward to receiving your submissions and supporting the development of your work!
