The Harvardwood Seminar Series (HSS) presents: On Comic Books -- Everyone Has To Start Somewhere! A workshop with Scott Lobdell
Thursday, March 11th 7:30pm Blankspaces 5404 Wilshire Blvd. FREE for Full Members, Friends of Harvardwood, and their guests $5 for Affiliates and Others
Sure, he's a world famous comic book writer now... but Scott Lobdell remembers what it was like some two decades ago when he was first breaking into the business. In an age where the internet is taking over even the comic book industry, Scott will draw on years of experience to help you to take your comic book idea and get it onto a computer screen or iPod near you!
In this workshop, this two time Wizard Award winning comic book and screenwriter will teach you how to breakdown, plot, and script a comic book (whether for print or electronic publications) and how to best position your new comic in a way to transition it into other media.
He'll provide all the basics you need to get started, and then be available to answer all your comic book related questions. Between his almost decade long run on the UNCANNY X-MEN, as well as comics and graphic novels featuring such characters as BUFFY, ANGEL, GHOSTBUSTERS, HARDY BOYS, KISS, GENERATION X and WILDCATS (not to mention a slew of other creator owned properties) this guy has a lot of answers to a lot of questions. On top of all this he is hilariously funny and enormously entertaining so you will not want to miss this!
