Soon after the devastating earthquake struck Haiti, a large group of
Harvard students asked the Harvard administration to help plan a fund-raising event. Working with the Office for the Arts at Harvard, the
students have arranged a beautiful program, one that will be
both inspiring and helpful to the larger global relief efforts. The
roster of performances will feature a variety of Harvard dance troupes,
choruses, spoken-word presentations, and solo performances by some of
our very best student artists.
Proceeds from the event will be directed to Partners in Health (PIH), a
Harvard-affiliated organization that is providing critical help to
earthquake survivors in Haiti. The University is covering all costs of
this concert production so that every dollar raised will go directly to
PIH. In order to share their efforts with the broader Harvard community
and to maximize the opportunity for raising funds, the University has
agreed to webcast the concert to alumni around the globe.
So, wherever you are next Friday evening, February 12, attend the event at 7 p.m. EST -- either online or in person at Sanders Theatre. You can
purchase tickets, donate, or watch the concert at http://www.harvard.edu/harvardforhaiti. The site will be open to donations before, during, and after the concert.
