Evenings of this sort at commercial venues typically cost $225 (plus tax and tip) per person and up.  We're offering the same thing (but better) at $60 complete for Full Members.

When the United States was founded, the most popular alcoholic beverage wasn't wine or beer--it was "hard" (alcoholic) cider!  Today this long neglected tradition of quality cider has been newly revived with spectacular results by a handful of passionate and brilliant artisanal cidermakers.  These new ciders have little in common with anything you're familiar with.  Made in small quantities from such long-forgotten heirloom cider varieties as "Redfield" and "Kingston Black," these new ciders have a delicacy, complexity, and sparkling lift that makes them uniquely seductive both on their own and even more so with food.  These are ciders that achieve a quality comparable to superb wines.

This dinner, in the stunning landmark setting of the 1887 Down Town Association, will be itself a landmark in the revival of great cider, the first event of its type in New York; and the DTA's gifted Chef Anthony LoCastro has devised a mouthwatering menu to mark the occasion, with every dish carefully designed to complement the unique flavors of these remarkable ciders.

As we dine, we will be tasting and discussing half a dozen of the greatest new "hard" artisanal ciders from the U.S., Canada, and England, produced by some of the world's greatest cidermakers--and among the most gifted and widely respected of these are the late Terry Maloney, his wife Judith,
and their son Field, of West County Cider.  Field Maloney has graciously agreed to come to New York specifically to attend this event, discuss the ciders, and meet our members.  Attendance will be strictly limited to enable everyone to personally meet Field Maloney and to participate in the discussion.

The Down Town Association is at 60 Pine Street, and is easy to reach.  Just take the #2 or #3 train to the Wall Street Station, and leave by the Pine Street exit. You'll be across the street from the Down Town Association.

Or you can also take the #4 or #5 train to the Wall Street station. Walk three blocks east on Wall Street to William Street. Then walk left on William Street one block to Pine. Go right on Pine to 60 Pine Street on the left side of the street.  (It's simpler than it sounds!)
