Start the New Year on a laughing note with a scrumptious dinner
with wine, and THREE of the smartest, funniest comics anywhere! Former professional soccer player Kevin Flynn has covered
sports for Fox Sports, ESPN, and ABC. He hosted the Discovery
Channel's Go For It, where he dived with sharks and jumped
out of airplanes. He's performed in films starring Ben Stiller, Jim
Carey, and Bill Murray and was in several episodes of Sex in the
City as one of Charlotte's boyfriends. He won "Best
of the Fest" at the Boston Comedy Festival and has done stand-up on
HBO, Comedy Central, MTV, and NBC. He heads the Nantucket
Comedy Festival and warms up the audience for Steven Colbert and The
Colbert Report.
When Buddy Fitzpatrick opened for Joan Rivers, she
commented, "You're funny. Perhaps a little too funny." He's
appeared on Make Me Laugh and Stand & Deliver on
Comedy Central, and Caroline's Comedy Hour and An
Evening at the Improv on A&E--and also on The
Sopranos.
Cindy Adams called Sherry Davey "Terrific!" and
"Brilliant!" in the New York Post. She's been on the Today
Show, Nick at Nite's Search for America's Funniest Mom, and
Comedy Central's Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and Premium
Blend, as well as NickMom's Night Out, and
TV Guide's Stand Up In Stilletos. Improper
Magazine named her one of New York's "Top 10 Comedians", and
Hollywood Reporter honored her as one of their "Magnificent
Seven." She's a frequent performer at Carolines, NY Comedy Club,
The Comic Strip, and New New York Improv.
Three great comedians are funnier than one in this evening of
stand-up comedy at its best! Add in the DTA's wonderful chef
Anthony LoCastro and his mouthwatering cuisine and you get a
fabulous evening of great food, good companionship, and laughter!
And this is an amazing bargain. If you go to a top comedy club,
where you'd be lucky to get even just one of these performers,
you'll get a cover charge of $18-25, and a two (bad and overpriced)
drink minimum, plus tax and tip, bringing you to $40 or more--and
you still haven't had a bite to eat! And food at comedy clubs is,
well, funny. We're offering a reception with OPEN BAR, light hors d'oeuvres, and cheeses,
followed by an elegant and mouthwatering sit-down dinner with wine,
prepared by the DTA's superb Chef Anthony LoCastro, followed by THREE of the best comics anywhere, followed by a scrumptious
buffet of desserts and coffee or tea--and all for just $67 complete if
you're a Full Member! This will be an amazing night out for a fraction
of what it would cost at a commercial venue.
And all of this in the stunning 1887 landmark surroundings of the
beautiful and friendly Down Town Association and surrounded by some
of the nicest people in New York! What an irresistible way to warm
up a January evening!
The
Down Town Association is easy to reach at 60 Pine Street. Just take
the #2 or #3 train to the Wall Street Station, and leave by the Pine
Street exit. You'll be across the street from the Down Town Association.
Or you can take the #4 or #5 train to the Wall Street station. Walk
three blocks east on Wall Street to William Street. Turn left on William
Street and walk one block to Pine. Then turn right on Pine Street. 60
Pine Street is on the left side of the street. (It's simpler than it
sounds!)
