Harvardwood Publishing announces
"SmartiBooks”: mobile publishing for the iPad, iPhone, iTouch, and other
Smartphones.
An exciting new opportunity
for delivery of text and images directly to Smartphones is now available from
AppsPublisher.com, through Harvardwood Publishing's partnership with Unlimited
Publishing LLC. Unlike other forms of e-Books, "SmartiBooks” will be
standalone applications that do NOT require a separate e-Reading program such
as Stanza or the "Kindle-for-iPhone" reader. Each one is
completely self-contained, full-featured, and available worldwide from the
Apple App Store, boasting more than 3 billion downloads to date.
Conceived as a fast and easy alternative to conventional book publishing, this
program allows authors and artists to publish material that might not otherwise
appear in print. The program is designed
for books but is also useful for short stories, poetry, photography, drawings,
graphic art, even recipes, family photos, or other material that isn't suitable
(or marketable) in book-length form.
It is intended to give Harvardwood's members a platform for sharing
their creativity at no expense, while retaining all rights and creative
control.
The first
release in the Harvardwood series will be "Lawyers, Law and Social
Change" by widely-published legal activist Steve Bachmann '73, HLS
'76. Following it will be "Rough Magicke," a fantasy novel by
John William Houghton '76, and "Summer Love," a screenplay by
filmmaker G. Wayne Miller '76 of Eagle Peak Media. Additional titles are
expected to appear by midsummer.
Gaining momentum from the wild popularity of the new iPad, this "SmartiBooks” program
from Harvardwood Books combines a new kind of e-Book technology with
independent publishing, allowing members to reach a worldwide audience more
directly than ever before possible. It is a model for artistic
self-expression in the 21st Century.
